I heard on the news this morning that on this day in 2005 that the first You Tube video was uploaded ( just in case you want to see it  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNQXAC9IVRw) , just 10 short years ago. My how things have changed in 10 years.

The history of the internet actually starts in the 50’s with the start of packet networking development, and if you are like most - that little bit is too much detail, for most of us, we just want to know where to hit send.

Actually, I do find the growth the internet and online communication very interesting and I am amazed at the progress since the phase ‘You Got Mail’ dialed in America’s fascination to the online world.

Now we are on the line, Snapping, Chatting, Posting, Checking in, and Hooting from morning till night. I think that we rarely sit back and think how much our lives are really so different now than before. I can’t even begin to think how my parents must of worried back when I was in High School and all there was to reach me was a land line number to the friend’s house I told them I was going to see.

From the first email I sent which was DOS with a command prompted – (ha!! I know something my kids don’t) to getting electronic signatures on my cell phone while using my MAPS program to find a listing I have not been to before– my how things have changed!

As a whole I think things have changed for the better – now I am to communicate with my clients better, able to complete transaction faster, provide current data on listings in the matter of minutes/hours instead of days. It’s easier for clients and family to reach me. I am seldom so out of pocket that you can’t reach me at all; I joke that if you have not heard back from me in 6 hours – please come look for me, something is wrong – but truthfully, it’s not a joke.

I have learned to embrace, to respect and to use technology for the advantage of my clients. I enjoy putting a computer in my purse that once filled the basement of a downtown high rise. I don’t think we think about that much, we just grab it and go.

I am so fortunate to be able to say I can remember before, I was able to learn as it was developing and now watching in amazement as it just keeps getting better.

So if you are in the market for a tech savvy agent, I fit that bill – and with a health side of treat you right customer service – ‘cause I still remember that it’s the people that make the deals work not the tools.

If you are in the market to buy or sell - call, email or text me - I'll Get You Home!

PS - I have been ask about my on the line comments....  yes it came from Internship - one of the funnest lines in the movie in my opinion... almost as the commercial that shows all the photos 'posted' on the living room wall.
