I know you came here to look for real estate news or search for new listings online – but I just have to tell you that it is soon to be fall and that means back-to-school, football, and Christmas is so close I can smell wrapping paper.
I just dropped my daughter off at school last week, school supplies are low on the shelves in my area and as I drove by the High School earlier this week, I heard the band playing. It’s Texas, so I can’t say that fall is in the air, as that doesn’t happen round here till after the first frost, but we might as well call it fall as September is only a week away.
Fall brings excitement as kids get back to school, some starting for the first time. News reporters all remind us of School Bus Safety, football players are standing outside the grocery stores selling coupon books, and teachers have finished counting down the days of their freedom, for this year. In other words, we are all busy, busy, and busier.
Fall brings to some - 1st day of Kindergarten - how exciting!
Fall brings to others - 1st day of High School - wow how did we get here?!
Fall brings to soon - 1st last day of high school - this is going fast.
Fall brings to us all one day - okay, now what?
As you read this – this is where you normally learn of my crazy thought process and in which direction I am headed with this installment of my blog… but if I am honest, which today as always I plan to be. I don’t have a direction. I am feeling a bit lost in the fall this year. It could be that I am missing the back to school rush and excitement as we have already taken our daughter back to college. Or it could be that as I promise every year – by gosh I am going to enjoy fall this year – every moment, every color change, every light breeze and every 4th down of Fall.
Life is too short to keep your head down and not work towards where you want, study what you want to study or live where you want to live. However, with that being said I also know that sometimes things take time and even more time to get us where we think we want to end up. But there is one thing that I can promise you - you are not going to get there if you don’t head in some direction.
So as we all fall into Fall – I just wanted to stop and say thank you to everyone that has helped me along my path. I want to encourage those that would like to start moving in a different direction or maybe you just need to start moving - the direction will come. If it be a new hobby, a new class, a new dream - start anew. If you find you have a renewed interest, focus or feel it's time for investing more of yourself for spiritual growth, then go for it!
Home is not always a place made of bricks or wood. Home is more than a place on a map. Home is sometimes a feeling of being contentment. Home is sometimes being surround by people that you can trust and that are there to support you. Home is coming back to what you know. Home is coming to a place that you belong.
With that said, I guess I should say that I might not be able to get everyone 'home' … but I will honestly try and help get you any needed support, contacts and resources to get you on a path. However, if it is a new address you are seeking this fall - then I can get you home!
